Excellent food and hospitality! Loved the flaming sausage, grilled squid, Porrugese chicken Maria cake and green wine! Wow!

Every dish we ordered from seafood to beef to snails were absolutely delicious and filling. On the more expensive side and service was slower than I usually expect but our server was friendly and the food was way worth it.

Lovely owners as they are a family run business for over 35 years! Food was amazing and I would definitely recommend Mino to others.

The place is welcoming and a food is delicious!

Mimo has stolen my heart this restaurant is very delicious. It is ran by a mom-and-pop owners, they are fantastic people if you are looking for a meal that tugs at your heartstrings and remind you of your family back home, come to this place it will not disappoint. The little old lady that owns/runs the restaurant and grocery is so sweet she will speak Portuguese to you even if you tell her you can't speak it she is very sweet, she reminds me of my grandma. Very loving and happy place to be. I Highly Recommend everyone to go here. Great authentic Portuguese food. As soon as you walk into the restaurant you feel like you are in a restaurant in Portugal. Can't wait to go there again.

A hidden gem, for sure! Heads up now, orders take about 30 minutes to be made, even without a crowd... But, man! It's worth it! We usually come here for our anniversary and we love that we are always made to feel like family. I adore the owners here. It's a great restaurant with wonderful food. Be sure to try the paella.

There is no restaurant I would rather go to in calgary. For almost 30 years I have been eating Isabelle’s food. Most birthdays, Valentine’s Day celebrations have been there. Thank you for all your hard work and amazing dishes.

Amazing seafood! Get the Paella, comes with crab, lobster, mussels, chicken, beef and rice! The wait is worth it for the freshly made yummy food! Portion is generous so don't eat too much bread!

Nice amd cozy family run Portugese restaurant. The restaurant is dimly lit so it makes it moody. We got the paella, mussels, cod, sausage, beef potatoe thing. The mussels were very good since it was paired with a great sauce. The potatoe thing was interesting as you could put the beef on top of the sliced potatoe. The paella was like a seafood platter with rice, shrimp, lobster, and crab. Everything was good except the crab was a little too salty. The cod was also salty but had a good taste and texture. The staff had explained to us that having the salt was a traditional Portugese style since back in the olden days they didnt have fridges and used salt as a preservative.

I will echo what others have said in their previous reviews, its amazing! It truly is a hidden gem and from what I remember it is the only authentic Portuguese restaurant in the city. The servers were attentive and were able to provide their recommendations to offer a wonderful experience. Our family has been to Portugal twice and fell in love with their culture and food and this is very close to the real thing! The paella is a must but be warned that it does take some time to make.

The food tasted amazing. The prices seem very reasonable. Theres a whole dining area which was quite the surprise and it felt like I was in a restaurant in Portugal. They aced it on the vibe!

Delicious Portuguese food, and the portions are large given the price. If you do come here for dinner be prepared for a little wait for food, everything is prepared fresh and takes time...but it is so worth it. The family owned atmosphere is great.

Got the Paella due to all the reviews..hit the spot and the ladies are so friendly! We called in to pick up to take home and it still tasted great!

Excellent menu, good service, and delicious food. Prices are very fair and the drink menu is also nice. Traditional Portuguese drinks and food here! I enjoyed the house wine and sangria. I had the poached cod and veggies which was good!

Decor is a little dated but the food was good, especially the Paella.

The food is great, only problem is located at 17ave which gives you some scary feeling.

Came with the family for dinner on a quiet weekday and had a great time. Highly recommend. The server was very friendly and not only told us about the food but also explained the culture a little bit as well. We had a couple of appetizers and they were all excellent. The house made sausage was full of flavour. I also highly recommend the squid appetizer. Comes in an amazing sauce.Best of all was the paella. It was full perfectly cooked and full of chicken and seafood. Between the paella for two (there was 4 of us) and the appetizers there was plenty of food to go around.

We ordered Paella. I loved the food and enjoyed the atmosphere. The only reason I rated as 4 🌟 is the rice was a little bit salty. After finishing our food, we talked to the waitress and she said they cook everything right after a customer order. So everything is fresh cooked and we could ask to put less salt. I will try this restaurant again. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

I frequent this marvelous restaurant once a month as I like the good air that is part of this place. The crew is exceptionally helpful and experienced. The service is remarkablywonderfully quick. Also, the food they prepare is great. I ate there many times and I was always satisfied. The payment is modest. I highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends.

Amazing! I love the staff. The food is always phenomenal. Highly recommend the pork and clams (Carne de porco alentejana), snails (caracóis), chorizo sausage with fire (chouriço à bombeiro), any wine from the Alentejo, espresso and any dessert!

Delicious food.

The only place in Calgary to get authentic Portuguese food in this sort of restaurant setting. It’s delicious, and while you may need to wait a little while for the main course, it just gives you more time to talk, drink, and snack away at the appetizers - in true European style. This restaurant is situated very close to the Portuguese Church, Community Center & Club here in Calgary! It’s a great restaurant!

Great food but a little pricey for this area (about $25/head) and super slow service.

The food is really good and the servers are very friendly and attentive. They also make some of the best paellas I've tried in a long time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good European food.

Fabulous staff and food

What a wonderful little place! You don't expect it to be as beautiful as it is on the inside. Even with a small party, there is a wait, but the food is well worth it! Isabel is an absolute delight, and you are really treated like family here. The experience was so wonderful I wish it could have lasted the whole night, it was hard to go home.

Very good food. Nice atmosphere. Great Service. The outside is deceiving as it looks a little run down, but go. The food is very good and the inside is lovely. Quiet and classy.

Absolute gem. Had a number of items off the menu and they were all outstanding. I'm not sure why Calgary does cherish these hole in the wall gems more.

In Calgary on a business trip and found this really great Portuguese family restaurant. The atmosphere is great and the food is fantastic. I highly recommend anyone visiting Calgary to try this place out. My colleague and I had the traditional kale soup, shrimp croquettes and grilled calamari with chip fries which were delicious. Definitely recommend this place especially if you love fish and seafood.

It's a family run restaurant - the food tasted super homey and the server made you feel at home, even though they were having a very busy day. Had sardines of all things (first time I've ever had that in a restaurant) and it was delicious. Paella and steak and eggs were great too.

Went with 2 friends on a Thursday evening. Ordered 2 beef steak dishes ($19.50). Restaurant was 10% full. Waited for 1 hour for food. The 2 family staff were overwhelmed, but were very friendly and apologetic. Quality of food was underwhelming. I give them credit for trying very hard to provide good service but the food was so so.
